Since my server had a recent catastrophic failure, this was one of the posts that was lost, so here it is back from the dead. Google cache FTW!

So since I recently set up my own source DS, I decided to share some knowledge in the the form of a linux startup script. This script simply starts your server with the default values without you having to include anything other than the game that you want the server to run.

You can run the script like this:

./runserver cstrike

Or if you want to add your own custom server flags, do this:

SERVER_FLAGS=’+hostname “My CS Server” +port 37015? ./runserver cstrike
